A thoughtful gift for the whale enthusiast!
Here's a family of Orcinus Orca, or Killer Whales...it looks like "L Pod" with a bull, 4 cows and a calf. They probably just nosed into Canadian waters, somewhere around Salt Spring in the Gulf Islands. Then, later on, they will all swim south toward warmer climes, maybe California, or even Mexico.
This is all captured on a 11" x 14" art tile, hand-painted with brilliant colors, and finished with complex glazes. The procedure is labor intensive, and requires kiln firing in excess of 2000 degrees! Hairlines or crazings under the glaze on the tile is part of the art style, and is normal to the glazing process. The back is finished with black velvet and a hanging hook, allowing you to feature the art in your home decor...there is also an easel leg for stand-alone display. The word "Canada" appears in raised letters on the lower left corner of the tile.
"Orca Pod" is a brand-new tile in near-perfect condition that was featured in a show-room display, Therefore, the original Benaya packaging has been replaced with my new packaging. The result is that you will receive a 45% discount from the retail price normally found in stores! Enjoy!
